First published: 11 April 2011

Nominations are now open for the Try Angle Awards

Your nominations are urgently required in order to ensure that young people from every local school, youth group, club, etc. have their efforts recognised. If you know of a young person who deserves recognition from the local community, please tell us about them.

All who are nominated will receive a Try Angle certificate in recognition of their nomination. The short-listed nominees in each of the categories, together with their guests, will be invited to a very high profile celebrity gala presentation. Each category winner will receive a Try Angle Award Trophy.

At the end of the Year there will also be The Spirit of Try Angle Awards, a County Celebration event which will highlight the very best of the nominations received from across Kent & Medway.

To nominate someone for a Try Angle Award, complete this form and return it as soon as possible.  Please ensure that you write the full address and telephone number of the nominee.  It is important that we can contact them to invite them to the awards night should the judges select them as one of the finalists.  If they are a member of a youth group, school or club, please also write down the name of the organisation they attend.

The Awards are divided into eight categories, and they are:

  •  Personal Achievements in the Arts (dance, video and crafts, etc.).
  • Personal Achievement in Music
  • Citizenship & Environment.
  • Bravery
  • Personal Achievement in Sports or Outdoor Activity
  • Volunteering and Service to the Community
  • Personal Development
  • Good Friends & Young Carers

The Try Angle Awards were introduced in 1994 to raise the profile of the vast majority of young people in the community - aged 11-18 years -who really try, often with little recognition, to do their best!

The closing date is Saturday 30 April and the nomination forms can be downloaded from:
