Think Fathers: Father-Inclusive Guidance for Parenting Services and Parents’ Week 2009
Father Inclusive Guidance
Kent Extended Services have worked with the Fatherhood Institute to develop Father Inclusive Guidance for commissioning, planning and delivery of services in Kent.
This guidance is aimed at commissioners, strategic and operational managers, and frontline staff in the statutory and voluntary sectors. It sets out a framework for supporting father-child relationships in Kent. It contains guidance for all agencies working with children and their families, including those who work solely with adults who may need to consider the “fathering” role of an adult.
To download a copy of the Father-Inclusive Guidance, or for more information about how your service can start ‘thinking fathers’ visit the Extended Services Parenting Page on Kent Trust Web.
Parents' Week 2009It is the tenth national Parents’ Week this year, which takes place from Monday 19 to Sunday 25 October. This year the theme is “the changing face of families” and charities, voluntary sector organisations, children’s centres, schools and libraries are being encouraged to celebrate by organising special events for parents and carers during this week.
Parents' Week 2009
Kent’s Parents’ Week will be focusing on working with parents to identify how a re-vamped www.kent.gov.uk website can better support them in their role as parents. There will be more information to follow, but please keep the parenting guidance in mind when developing plans.
