Membership of Kent Safeguarding Children Board

Kent Safeguarding Children Board is a two tier body:

  • The Board
  • The Executive Board

The Board is a formal decision making forum whilst the Executive will manage the day to day work of the Board.

There are two categories of member for KSCB

  • Members who are nominated representatives of the main agencies with a responsibility for working together to safegaurd the children of Kent
  • Associate members who support the work of the Board

Membership Criteria

Agency representatives must be of the upmost probity, have a strategic role within their agency and be of a seniority to enable them to:

  • Speak for their organisation with authority,
  • Commit their organisation on policy and practice matters,
  • Hold their organisation to account,
  • Influence the development of their agency's practices,
  • Ensure that child protection and safeguarding services within those agencies are adequately resourced,
  • Contribute to the development of robust and effective monitoring and performance functions.
