Welcome to the brand new ICT Themes section of the Kent ICT website. Here you will find lesson plans and supporting resources based around five themes to help you embed ICT in the teaching and learning in your school. The original QCA support materials can be accessed through the link on the left side navigation bar

To ensure pupils receive a broad and balanced ICT experience we recommend all   five themes are addressed in each year group. This will inevitably involve some discrete ICT teaching but wherever possible should be embedded within cross curricular teaching / learning. For example, pupils’ multimedia presentations could focus on a class history topic.
Whilst many schools will wish to use the progression statements published here to inform their own planning, we have included sample units of work for exemplification only. These are broadly based around familiar QCA units of work. We would strongly encourage all schools to adapt these to meet the needs of pupils in their own school, to maximise opportunities to embed ICT in the curriculum and to make use of new technologies.
