Using a database in a friction investigation 4 |

| Evaluation I feel the children gained a great deal from the sessions. Not only did they have the opportunity to revise and enrich their knowledge of databases, they were able more or less independently to interpret their science experiment results. There was also a link with numeracy. They enjoyed and were impressed that the computer could do their work for them and they were introduced to a number of new features in Information Workshop. The sort icons caused confusion and further practice will be needed. This activity could easily be adapted to other Science experiments. Further ICT extension may include a comparison of using a database to produce these graphs and using a spreadsheet to do the same job. |
