ICT: 3 a, b

Pupils should be taught how to share and exchange information in a variety of forms including e-mail, to be sensitive to the needs of the audience and think carefully about the content and quality when communicating information.

ICT skills to be taught:

  • using the scanner
  • web authoring tools
  • graphic manipulation
  • working as a team

English: EN 3 Writing 1

Pupils should be taught to:
achoose form and content to suit a particular purpose
cuse language and style that is appropriate to the reader
duse and adapt the features of a form of writing, drawing on their reading
euse features of layout, presentation and organisation effectively

2To develop their writing on paper and on screen, pupils should be taught to:

aplan - note and develop initial ideas
bdraft - develop ideas from the plan into structured written text
crevise - change and improve the draft
fdiscuss and evaluate their own and others' writing

It was also hoped that the Year 6 children would enhance the curriculum of the Class 1 children in the subject areas of Geography and History, as the children were to complete a topic on signs and the Victorians.
