Progressions in ICT
Teachers need the ‘four confidences’ for effective teaching with ICT:
The Primary Strategy is developing resources to strengthen teacher understanding of the key concepts in ICT and standards. The aim is to provide a guide to developing progression within the themes of ICT. It will not be a new scheme of work. There will be short exemplars with ‘learning descriptions’ for each year, and examples to support assessment. .
The strands of ICT are:
1) Finding things out
2) Developing and making things happen
3) Exchanging and sharing information
4) Reviewing, modifying and evaluating work as it progresses
Primary Strategy ‘Progressions’ pilot materials also cover ICT in the Early Years and Foundation stage. For further details please contact Helen Smith.
