Activities
The children will:

• Know and describe how rivers erode, transport and deposit materials

• Know and recognise common river features

• Use ICT to research and present information

  • Use Infomapper to plot the journey of a river
  • Use digital cameras and camcorders to record river features
  • Visit the River Stour to find evidence of how human activity has changed the rivers appearance ( weir, lakes)
  • Use ICT to create and publish Multimedia presentations about the River Stour

Learning Outcomes

What the children did:

• Created their own map showing the journey of the river from its source to the sea

• Created graphs and tables to show the velocity and depth of the river at different points

• Created and published on Infomapper written reports about the River Stour

• Used Intel Movie Maker cameras to create a video about the river

• Painted pictures of the River at different points
