Does using ICT improve children’s enquiry skills?

Key Findings

Reports from the teachers who used ICT positively concluded that its use enabled children to:

• Gather information about a subject prior by interviewing (Skype) children and adults prior to the visit

• Record photographic evidence and sound files for analysis on return to school

• Collect more evidence on a visit than would be possible using “traditional methods”

• Quickly download (LOGGIT Explorer) and present information on graphs and in tables

• Use speech (MP3 Players) to record their thoughts and feelings about buildings and places (an activity that supported underachieving writers)
