Learning Intentions
Activities
The children will:

• Use maps and aerial photographs to locate roads in an area

• Learn about the notable features associated with Road Safety

• use a wide range of equipment and resources (including ICT) to gather information local traffic

• use ICT to share results with others

• Use Infomapper to find out how we travel to school – which major roads do, we cross?

• Discuss safe ways to cross a road (Highway Code)

• Record the traffic travelling outside our school at different times of the day

• Record the information on a tally table

• Prepare a questionnaire for parents

• Copy the information on to a spreadsheet
Discuss and propose ways to reduce traffic congestion outside the school
