E-Exhibition

Students from schools in the West Kent Learning Federation have all come together to produce an Exhibition which focus’s on ICT use within art.
The exhibition, being held at Bradbourne School in Sevenoaks where Sarah Miller, AST in Art, has brought together this exceptional collection of work. Sarah has been leading the ICT and Art steering group over the last year. The group, consisting of teachers of art from all the schools involved, share ideas, plans and expectations for the departments in terms of the development of ICT skills with a creative edge. The team of staff have met every term to discuss development of technology and disseminate their work through a school’s Moodle website hosted by Tonbridge Grammar School.
The exhibition is a climax to a year’s hard work from all the staff and students involved. Not only has the exhibition demonstrated students’ abilities but it also shows that schools can achieve highly when working in collaboration with one another.
Well done to all involved. A Great success.

e-learning groups (History, English, DT and Transition) in Maidstone and Malling:
The partnerships of Maidstone 1, Maidstone 2 and Malling have created e-learning groups this September. Four groups have been created for English, History, Design and Technology and Transition. The groups are made up of teachers who wish to develop their ICT skills and apply them to their specific curriculum area.
E-learning groups are an opportunity for teachers to get together to share good practice, expertise, training and resources. Some teachers have been involved in the trial of new technology, analysing the impact of new devices in their teaching and learning classroom environment. Others have been developing new skills by putting together training that can then be used back in the classroom. Lastly, a group have decided to follow a current program, building on it by embedding elements of ICT, resulting in the creation of electronic resources which will enable children to work towards their transition to secondary school.
Podcasting project:
The group wanted to look at the use of podcasts in ICT lessons. Each school wanted to look at a different aspect and then report back.
Here are the finding that the group discovered:

Radio Station project:
Tonbridge Grammar School's year 7 students had to create an interview suitable for radio, they edited it, added a jingle, exported it as mp3 and put it behind a button on a flash interface. As an extension to this and as a whole school project students decided to try to set up a school radio station that would be accessible to all students and used across as many subjects as possible.
