What is external funding?

During 2008-09 KCC successfully bid for more than £5.5m of external funds and during 2008 (calendar year) the voluntary and community sector in Kent received over £9m from the National Lottery distributors alone.

Services for VCS groups

KCC's external funding team co-ordinates and supports the development of bids by internal colleagues and local partners for external funding to enhance and develop quality services for Kent.

We have a range of services available to support voluntary and community groups with bid development and funding. These include:

• Grant searches
• Advice and support - funding issues, developing, writing and reviewing bids
• Events - including ad hoc seminars, advice surgeries and training
• News and factsheets - Inside Track funding newsletter and factsheets on funding
• Partnership forming
• Signposting to other support - KCC grant schemes, KCC funding contacts, Borough and CVS Support
