The Finance and Management Information section provides access to:

• Schools (and all divisions within the CFE directorate) with advice and guidance on external funding opportunities and project development
• Sound financial planning, financial integrity and budgetary control in the directorate as well as supporting school finance
• A wide range of pupil and school performance information including pupil contextual and assessment data, making fiqures speak for themselves, and information to aid target setting.

This document summarizes a wide range of information about the children and young people of Kent - who they are, what they do and what they think following the format of its parent document The People of Kent. It provides an important insight into this very significant group of Kent residents and thanks are due to many officers who contributed to its development.  The information is already available in a variety of places and these sources are validated and clearly identified. The importance of this publication is that it draws together in one place and provides a background for policy development and service planning in future, including the Children and Young People’s Plan. It will be developed and updated as new information becomes available and, will provide a template that can be developed at more local level, building especially on feedback from participation by children and young people themselves. Inevitably there are constraints on the size of the document and limits on the information available at this time. Nevertheless we hope you find it useful and would welcome your views on how it might be developed in the future.
