Following the abolition of the School Support Staff Negotiating Body and discussion with the Trade Unions the current Kent Scheme Salaries for Schools is to be brought into line with the rest of KCC. Therefore, with effect from 1 June 2011 the Kent Scheme will change from an incremental pay scale to one with minimum and maximum points within each grade (KR2 to KR15). This pay scale is referred to as Kent Range. Progression through the grade will be by a percentage increase based on performance. New starters should be placed on the minimum point of the grade but those with relevant previous experience can be paid on any salary within the range provided that there is a business case to support this.
More information about the changes and the transition arrangements can be found in the attached note and on Kent Trust Web.
Please ensure your staff, who are paid on Kent Scheme terms and conditions, are made aware of these changes. You must also inform your payroll provider.
SPS are sending out additional information to those schools that buy a service from them.
Schools that use SIMS.net Personnel software and buy a service from EiS will receive an Information Notice explaining how to set up the new pay ranges.
