Training
KSCB provides training and development for staff to help them safeguard and promote the welfare of children effectively. This includes being able to recognise when a child may require safeguarding, and knowing what to do in response to concerns about the welfare of a child. Practitioners and managers must also be able to work effectively with others, both within their own agency and across organisational boundaries. This is best achieved by a combination of single-agency and inter-agency training.
We run an annual multi-agency training programme, which includes a range of courses to enable professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
How to apply for a place on our courses
Please go to the CPD website (online booking system) to book courses. If you are a new user, please click into the 'New User' box to create your account which then enables you to book courses at any time.
It is the responsibility of the individual agency to prioritise their staff for places on training courses. Advice about suitability can be sought via the KSCB administrator (see below for contact details). Places are allocated to reflect the multi-agency framework for the training and not on a first come first served basis. The KSCB tries to ensure that all agencies are represented where possible.
If you require more information, please contact the KSCB Training Administrator on 01622 696238.
Successful applicants will receive joining instructions at least three weeks prior to the course. If these do not arrive course applicants must take responsibility for ensuring that they have been allocated a place.
Cancellation Policy
Please cancel you place via the CPD website, with as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend. Participants and/or their managers will be asked to identify a ‘reserve’ person within their work place to attend should the original applicant be unable to do so. Cancellation without seven weeks notice will incur a charge of £99 per day.
Suitability of Courses
Applicants, in consultation with their line managers, should decide if a particular course meets their own professional and individual child safeguarding training and development needs.
Certification
Course participants who attend for the whole of a training course will be able to download a certificate of attendance.
