Kent Safe Schools LogoWhat we do

Kent Safe Schools has a central management team working in various locations across the county and a team of staff who work directly with children and young people of various ages in schools, pre schools, community settings and through employers, colleges and further education centres.

The preventative stream of Kent Safe Schools focuses on improving the emotional well-being of children and young people within a school environment, through:

  • Anti-Bullying Activities
  • Direct work with children and young people (Peer Mentoring, Youth Action, Self Esteem, Nurture, Anger Management)
  • Spark Project (Working in Swale schools with the Targeted Mental Health in Schools Programme)
  • Restorative Approaches
  • Thanet Projects (Launch Pad, Motiv8, Parenting, Domestic Abuse)
  • Schools Drugs Education Advisory Service (this needs moving into our website)
  • Work Experience Placements
  • Kent Community Programme.

These schemes are delivered to children and young people who may be vulnerable, bullied, have low self esteem or emotional or behavioural needs and work to ensure that the school experience is valuable and enjoyable.

For those children and young people who are not in education, employment or training, our services engage them in projects and placements designed to meet their skills and interests and offer them opportunities to secure permanent employment, a further education place or a place on a training course.
