The Children's Centre at Waterside

Waterside Children’s Centre is part of the government’s Sure Start Children’s Centre agenda and is located next to the Swan centre in South Willesborough. We are one of eight Children’s Centres in Ashford who work together to provide a rich variety of services to children under 5 years and their families. The services are based on the Sure Start principles through multi-agency and partnership working.

The centre has its own crèche which is offered free to parents who require childcare while attending courses and using services on site. The building also houses youth provision provided by Ashford Borough Council and the Salvation Army, so in partnership with them and the Swan centre community members there is a range of services available for a wide variety of needs and ages.

We are open all year round and run a timetable of services. These include:

• Family Club - a drop in group facilitated by members of the Health Visiting team and Children Centre staff
• Baby Massage
• Toddler Energy
• Cooking courses and much more.

During the holidays we plan to hold special events which could include family trips open days and where possible and working with our partners provide support for older siblings. Newsletters and bulletins are sent to all families registered with the centre.
