Reading for Wellbeing
Looking to do something different? Do you enjoy stories or poems? Come along for the chance to dive into some great stories and poems. You don’t have to read; you can just sit back and enjoy listening. IT HAS BEEN PROVEN THAT BEING READ TO ALOUD HAS A POSITIVE EFFECT ON YOUR MOOD AND FEELINGS. Everyone welcome! Please note this group is for Adults only, crèche available, on request.
Trying to ensure a child’s safety is a big responsibility and this course is designed for parents, carers and grandparents. This course aims to provide hands on, practical training with tutor input and demonstrations and build confidence in your abilities. A handbook will be provided at the end of the course. The course covers management of an incident, CPR (baby/child/adult), Recovery position, diagnosis and treatment of bleeding, burns and choking.

Incredible Years
The programme is a well researched intervention of parents of children between the age of 1 and 10 who are experiencing difficulties with emotions or behaviours or for parents who would like to further develop their parenting skills. Topics that will be covered in the sessions include, using praise effectively including encouragement and rewards, improving family relationships through play, positive discipline including rules and effective limit-setting, the importance of parent’s attention and special time, etc. An informal introduction will be held for those who are interested in attending, which will be followed by a programme of 12, two hour, weekly sessions. These sessions will be run during term time. Childcare facilities will be provided, along with refreshments.

This is a women-only drop-in group that has an exciting variety of sessions including craft, pampering, discussion and relaxation sessions. If you feel like you need some time out to be yourself and relax in the company of like-minded women then this is the group for you. A place to be yourself and make friends, come along to de stress and have some fun! A free crèche is available.
