Breastfeeding

"Breastfeeding Peer Counsellors, what do they do"?

We are friendly knowledgeable mums, who live locally and want you to enjoy breastfeeding your baby.  We have all undergone an eight week peer supporters course.

We:

  • have breastfed at least one baby;
  • are enthusiatic about breastfeeding but respect your choices;
  • have completed an extensive breastfeeding training course; and
  • are easily approachable

In what ways will Breastfeeding Peer Counsellors support, promote and protect breastfeeding in the local community?

We will:

  • talk to other parents before and after the birth;
  • provide telephone help and advice;
  • run breastfeeding support groups;
  • give breastfeeding information in clinics; and,
  • encourage local businesses to become breastfeeding friendly

If you have any questions or worries, are confussed between advice and old wives tales, or if you just want to talk to someone friendly with experience and training.

Contact us - we'll help you give your baby the best start in life.  Telephone or text the breastfeeding hotline on 07795 822996 or visit the
Eastern and Coastal Kent NHS website
