The Ray Allen Children's Centre
The Ray Allen Centre is a community building with Children’s Centre status which was developed in 2006. It is situated on the Stanhope ring road in Ashford. 
We are one of seven Children’s Centres in Ashford who work together to provide services to children under 5 years and their families. Our services are based on the Sure Start principles through multi-agency and partnership working.
Within the centre which is open 50 weeks a year is:
- Light Bites Community Café which is run by Beaver Community Trust.
- Our crèche which is offered free to parents who require childcare while attending courses and accessing services on site
We are open all year round and run a busy weekly timetable of groups and sessions. During the holidays there are special events held and these may include family trips.
We work closely with parents and carers to ensure that we provide:
- relevant groups
- training opportunities
- volunteering programme - get involved in all areas of the centre, including the planning and development of services
- mother to mother breastfeeding support programme accredited by the University of Greenwich.
