
Windmill Community Allotment Project
What is the Windmill project all about?
We are a community project offering a wide range of outdoor activities, such as, food growing, gardening, exploring and learning about local wildlife.
We are open to all whatever your age ages or abilities. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
We have two sites:
Everyone is welcome to visit either site when we are open.
We are open:
Tuesday 10am—Till sunset in Winter, 4.00pm in Summer
Thursday 10am—1pm
Friday 10am—2.00pm
Facilities include: wildlife pond, meadow, orchard, vegetable, fruit, herb and flower growing plots, bee keeping, compost toilet, under 5’s play area, picnic, BBQ and Bonfire pit, green woodworking area, on site kitchen, refreshments.
Our Current activities:
Tuesday 12 - 4pm - Market stall selling fresh seasonal local produce and free-range eggs and home made preserves
Thursday 10.30 – 12.30pm - Cabbage patch parent and toddler group Outdoor fun, plus growing, cooking and tasting fresh produce. £1 per child, 50p for any further children)
Friday 10 -1pm - Gardening, food growing, gardening for wildlife, composting.
Fancy volunteering or need work experience?
We offer volunteer and work experience placements
No experience necessary - training and inductions offered.
You can learn more about growing, gardening, outdoor environmental activity, retail and commercial production. Refreshments and veg provided.

Schools, nurseries and community group visits:
We can provide a varied programme of curriculum linked activities.
Fun programmes of activities for enrichment days, food tasting, crafts, food growing.
Nurseries: child lead themed outdoor education and play.
Forest Schools a new programme for forest schools is available.
