The Windmill Community Allotment Project is based 400m from the Children's Centre. You could consider becoming a volunteer with the scheme, come to one of our events, or just come and buy some fresh vegetables from our market stall! We'd love to see you.

Windmill community Allotment Project is a diverse, outdoor environmental type, community project offering a wide range of fun and educational activity; volunteer and work experience opportunities for local communities and visiting groups. Including activity ranging from wildlife (habitat studies including pond dipping for all ages and abilities including preschool and school groups. Food growing tasting and seasonal cooking horticultural market garden and work based learning.

The project is located on two wildlife rich one acre sites within Dane Valley Allotments. The main community site has the following facilities and areas: kitchen; outdoor individual, group and communal organic growing spaces; wildlife garden and large pond with platforms and seating; young orchard with local fruit and nut varieties; compost toilet; compost bins and wormeries; under 5’s play area with willow tunnels and sandpit; picnic and bonfire areas; woodwork area, herb flower, soft fruit and perennial vegetable beds, and plant nursery. Local produce market stalls. The second site is located at the end of St Peters footpath just passed Drapers Mill School


Cabbage Patch Kids is an Outdoor Parent and Toddler that runs on a Thursday
We will be having a veg box scheme starting the 7th July Veg Box Scheme
We also have a group for the over 55's every Friday 10.30am-1pm
All activity within the project encompasses our aims of healthy living and eating, building community and sustainable living & education.
