Little Explorers Children's Centre

We are a rural Sure Start Children’s Centre which opened 8 May 2010.

We are located in the grounds of Tenterden School opposite Tenterden Leisure Centre. Our area covers; Tenterden, Appledore, Biddenden, Hamstreet, High Halden, Kenardington, Newenden, Rolvenden, Shadoxhurst, Smarden, St. Michael’s, Stone-Cum-Ebony, Warehorne, Wittersham and Woodchurch.

Little Explorers is one of eight Children’s Centres in Ashford, who work together to provide a variety of fun, free and local services and activities for children under 5 and their families.

The centre is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, although some of our services run in the evening and at weekends. 
We provide a range of excellent high quality services which include:

• outreach services to the above villages
• our own crèche and qualified early years staff which enables us to offer free childcare to parents when they are attending courses
• a peer support programme, accredited by the University of Greenwich for mother to mother breastfeeding support
• special events during the holiday
• quarterly bulletin timetable updating families of current courses and activities on offer.

If you live in an isolated rural area with poor transport links and have difficulty attending Little Explorers or some of our outreach groups we may be able to provide transport. Contact us for more details.
