What Are Children Centres?

Children’s centres bring together a range of services for children under 5 and their families in a family-friendly environment.

Our aim is to play a central role in improving outcomes for all young children by working together with other child and family services.

Children's Centres provide information and services for families aged 0-5, giving the opportunities for all children to reach their full potential through the five 'Every Child Matters' outcomes:

• Achieve Economic Wellbeing
• Be Healthy
• Enjoy And Achieve
• Make A Postive Contribution
• Stay Safe

We offer our services to people in the following Catchment areas;

• Dunton Green

• Otford

• Shoreham

• Kippington

• Riverhead

• Kemsing

Our Main Services

Child Health Clinic – A chance for you to drop-in and weigh your baby and talk to the health visitors about any queries or concerns.

Baby Massage – A five week course for parents to learn massage techniques to use on babies over 8 weeks, which can help relieve stress and promote the strength and flexibility of babies. Booking is essential.

Music Bugs – A fun, interactive music and singing session for children aged from 4 months to 5 years. Weekly booking is essential, term-time only.

Toddler Talk - A fun and lively singing session. Learn Makaton to encourage and support your toddler to speak and to develop their communication skills. Booking is essential, term-time only. 

Stay and Play- A drop-in session for parents and carers with toddlers to play and take part in messy play activities for children aged 0-5 years.

Friday Fun - A messy play drop-in session that could involve outdoor activities for children aged 0-5years (Please wear old clothing)

Health Visitor 2 1/2 Year Check – These are organised and run by the health visitors and parents and carers invited when children reach the relevant age. By invitation only.
