The purpose of Children’s Centres
Children’s Centres are places that provide information and offer access to services for families with young children aged 0-5 years in the local community.
What we provide:
Our main services
Child Health Clinic – A chance for you to drop-in and weigh your baby and talk to the health visitors about any queries or concerns
Baby Massage – A four week course for parents to learn massage techniques to use on babies over 10 weeks, which can help relieve stress and promote the strength and flexibility of babies. Booking is essential.
Baby Sensory - A four week course introducing your baby to varied sensory experiences that can help support your babies learning and development
Childminder Network Meetings– A weekly drop-in for local registered childminders to meet and provide support for one another.
Sign and Rhyme- A six week course that teaches parents and carers simple signs through songs. It is designed to help babies communication development before they can speak.
Music Bugs – A fun, interactive music and singing session for children aged from 4 months to 5 years. Weekly booking is essential.
Mini Explorers for babies - A drop-in session for parents and carers with pre-walkers to come along and meet new parents in a relaxing environment.
Stay and Play- A book-in session for parents and carers with toddlers to play and take part in messy play activities.
Speak Easy – A sex and relationship education course for parents of primary school aged children. Book is essential.
Health Visitor 2 1/2 Year Check – These are organised and run by the health visitors and parents and carers invited when children reach the relevent age.
