Bluebells Children’s Centre
Bluebells is a rural Sure Start Children's Centre which opened in February 2009. It is one of eight Children’s Centres in Ashford who work together to provide a variety of fun, free and local services and activities for children under 5 and their families.
Our reach area includes the villages of Challock, Charing, Charing Heath, Hothfield, Little Chart, Great Chart, Pluckley, Bethersden and Egerton plus Repton Park and Godinton Park.
We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, although some services run in the evening and at the weekends. We provide a range of excellent high quality services which includes:
- outreach services in Charing, Pluckley and Godinton as well as services at Bluebells, see our busy weekly timetable
- our own crèche and qualified early years staff which enables us to offer free childcare to parents when they are attending courses
- a peer support programme, accredited by the University of Greenwich for mother to mother breastfeeding support
- special events during the holidays
- a quarterly bulletin timetable updating families of current courses and activities on offer.
Some families who live in isolated rural areas with poor transport links may have difficulty attending Bluebells or some of our outreach groups and transport may be provided if needed.
