About the team

  • Children’s Centre Network Manager - Sue Hoare

Sue is responsible for the management of both Garlinge and Birchington & Villages Children's Centres.  She is directly responsible for managing the Community Involvement Worker Team and ensuring that services are provided for families across the Garlinge and Birchington & Villages area. Sue is always happy to hear from any parents with comments or suggestions about the services on offer.  She is also the designated person for safeguarding and is happy to talk to any parents regarding this.

  • Team Leader Admin                              - Emma Dinsdale

Emma is responsible for managing the Admin Team and ensuring that the day to day running of the Children's Centre goes smoothly. She also works in this role at The Six Bells and Cliftonville Children's Centres.

  • Community Involvement Workers    - Michelle Mannering, Emma Doel
                                                           & Emma Chapman

Michelle, Emma and Emma are here to support families in a variety of ways, from offering advice to running groups and services or helping you with a home safety check. They are an experienced team and have worked in other Children's Centres before joining Birchington & Villages. If you would like to speak to any of them, you can find their contact details in the 'Contact Us' section

  • Receptionist                                   - Elena McCormick

Elena has been working within Thanet Children's Centres for nearly 7 years so you may recognise her from other Centres. She is usually your first point of contact when you visit or call the Centre and can give you leaflets and information as well as tell you more about the courses and services available at the Children's Centre 

  • Administrator                                        - Penny McDonnell

Penny is responsible for the administration of the Children's Centre and dealing with the finance. She joined the team in August 2012, having previously been working for the post office.

  • Health Services                                     - Health Visitors,                                                         Breastfeeding Peer Supporter                                                                      Midwife Clinic

They provide a range of health services within the Children's Centre from breastfeeding support through a drop in group to a well baby clinic and developmental checks. They also offer baby massage and postnatal appointments. Please contact us for more information or you can contact your Health Visitor or Midwife directly
