WORK RELATED LEARNING - HOME PAGE

What is Work Related Learning?

WRL builds on existing practice in schools. It has traditionally been provided through careers education, work experience and education/business links. It is now a statutory requirement for schools to deliver WRL, within a clearly defined framework, for all students in Key Stage 4.

A strategy to develop WRL is to seek a Quality Charter Mark. For more information visit University of Warwick Centre for Education and Industry

The importance of Work Related Learning in the school curriculum has been a constantly changing one over many years, but teachers and students have always appreciated the learning opportunities offered by experiencing a work environment outside the classroom. To help you plan provision in your school, The Work Related Learning Toolkit, from LEACAN was provided to all Kent Schools by the Careers Service. This carefully selected information gives guidance in planning wrl to all those with curriculum responsibilities, from the classroom teacher to senior management.
