Under the revised arrangements for Performance Management, schools and local authorities have an opportunity to ensure that all teachers and headteachers are empowered and confident to engage fully with performance management to develop their skills and careers.
The revised professional standards for teachers set out what is expected of teachers throughout their careers. These provide a backdrop to performance management discussions.
