| The Primary Excellence Project (PEP) is a pioneering primary improvement project which entered its fourth phase in September 2008. The project’s original brief was to radically reform the way the LEA worked with its schools by supporting primary headteachers with their core purpose of promoting high quality teaching and learning. The PEP Headteachers provided school-based consultancy, working alongside headteachers and the staff of schools to raise aspirations and levels of achievement and to develop active learning communities with improved collaboration between all schools. From September 2008 the PEP Headteachers joined the Local Children’s Services Partnership and their work is managed on a day to day basis by the Partnership Manager. |
The team of 23 Phase 4 PEP Headteachers are professionally led and managed by the Senior Primary Advisor for Improvement Networks. They support school improvement in Kent through three core activities – (i) advising and supporting Local Partnerships, (ii) transforming leadership in schools at all levels and (iii) the School Improvement Partner role. More details of these core activities can be accessed through the following links:
Each PEP will support their individual Partnerships with school improvement through an analysis of data and advice on strategies for local priorities. Work will, therefore, take on an individual identity reflecting each partnership's needs.
