Introduction
The one-to-one tuition programme provides additional support for pupils not achieving their full potential in either English or mathematics, despite other intervention methods. The tuition is designed to focus on a specific ‘blockage’ in a child’s learning and provide an intensive burst of individual tuition.
One-to-one tuition helps children make the progress needed to achieve their full potential. However, it is important that one-to-one tuition is a supplementary intervention and is not used to backfill or replicate existing support.
All schools have been notified of their One to One Tuition allocation of funded places for 2010-11. There are some changes that schools must be aware of regarding Key Stage pupil eligibility and the additional allocation for all Looked after Children in Kent schools. Please read the General Update (September 2010) for these details and a quick reference overview of One to One Tuition.
