SEF Workbooks

The SEF workbooks are designed to support schools to accurately self-evaluate the quality and provision of the school against the OFSTED 2009 criteria.

The intention is not only will they support the Leadership Team in completing the SEF but that these can be used with staff and governors as appropriate and can also be used as evidence of in depth evaluation of specific areas

The first workbook gives an overview of the new OFSTED inspection format and guidance on completion of the revised SEF (Part A).

Each subsequent workbook focuses on a specific section of the SEF and contains the following:-

• An overview of the area to be inspected
• guidance on what OfSTED will look at in this area
• the OfSTED judgements
• suggestions as to where evidence may be found
• a section to complete the self-evaluation of the area
• a section to record key issues arising from the evaluation
