Welcome to the Maidstone and Malling Local Learning Network (LLN) page. We aim to provide advice, support, local Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and opportunities to share good practice to all school based staff within the network.
The LLN is currently comprised of Maidstone 1, Maidstone 2 and Malling Local Children’s Service Partnerships (LCSP) The Maidstone and Malling LLN is co-ordinated by a partnership of LCSP Managers, Primary Excellence Headteachers (PEP Heads) from each of the 3 LCSPs, the local School Improvement Adviser and Senior Secondary Adviser.
The group meet each term to identify and discuss relevant local CPD with an aim of offering all school based staff with the opportunity of attending a series of high quality training events to meet the needs of the local area.

Upcoming CPD Events
*** SEF Workshops ***
Schools within the Maidstone and Malling Local Learning Network are being offered the opportunity to attend various SEF workshops which will explore the key elements to include in the new SEF. As a workshop these events will also provide opportunities to individual schools to either have some quality time to go through their SEF with a PEP/SIP to advise, or pair up with other schools to constructively work through each others SEF.

*** 20in12 Workshop ***
This workshop is designed to introduce the next stage of the Kent 20in12 learning programme which will share with schools a number of themes to develop across the curriculum in the 2 academic years leading up to the London 2012 Games.
The workshop will give schools information and opportunities to work collaboratively across all subject areas within their own schools as well as providing opportunities for schools to work together on specific events and challenges.

*** Moderation of Writing and Maths through APP ***
Primary teachers working within Maidstone and Malling LLN are being offered the opportunity to attend a training session that will focus on the moderation of writing and maths through APP.
This workshop will enable delegates to have a greater understanding of the principles of APP and it’s moderation. The session will comprise of an overview of Assessing Pupil Progress followed by a choice of 2 workshops;

- Moderation of Maths

*** Maths Problem Solving Workshops ***
Teachers working within the Maidstone and Malling Local Learning Network are invited to attend a Maths Problem Solving Workshop.
The Workshop comprises of 2 separate sessions;
- Session One is aimed at Maths Subject Leaders who will support colleagues with good practice of problem solving.
- Session Two is aimed at All Teachers who would like support with developing
mathematical problem solving in their own classrooms.
A follow up workshop will provide delegates with an opportunity to re-visit elements of the first workshop as well as celebrating problem solving work with children.
