Kent CPD Online FAQs

What is Kent CPD Online?

Kent CPD Online is a new solution to support the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training of the children’s workforce. It is an online searchable directory and booking system for professional development and training opportunities.

Who is it for?

The training offers currently on Kent CPD Online available to schools, include Teaching and Learning (Early Years, Primary and Secondary phases), Client Services, Education Finance, Director of CFE, Management Information, Education Psychology, Safer Schools, Specialist Teaching Service, Safeguarding Children's Team and Outdoor Education with more training offers being added daily.

Why should my school allocate a CPD Leader for CPD Online?

Every school can allocate a designated senior user (CPD Leader). We recommend you do this as:

  •  It will reduce the heavy administration duty on CPD Leaders as staff can book courses themselves
  • The CPD leader will receive emails to authorise all bookings
  • There is an option to apply for event places on behalf of colleagues
  • CPD Leaders can report on school training attendance and feedback
  • The CPD Leader can access individual staff training records which can be linked to performance management.

These benefits are on top of the features that are offered with a general user account.

How do I create a CPD Leader account?

To create a CPD Leader account, just email KentCPDOnline@Kent.gov.uk stating the name of the CPD Leader and the name of your school. The training and development team will then send you details of your CPD Leader account.

Should every member of staff in my school have an account?

Yes, we advise all members of staff to create their own account if they do not already have one so that they can benefit from the following:

  • Apply online which alerts the CPD leader to authorise the place
  • Be proactive in their own professional development by:
    • Carrying out their own research to match their training needs
    • Receive email alerts that meet their profile
    • Keep up to date with CPD for themselves and colleagues
  • Receive confirmation of a place and course details direct
  • Access training materials, certificates and event evaluations
  • Retrieve changes to event information quickly
  • Create an individual CPD record which stores all future and past course information along with any related documents.
