Kent 20in12 Learning Programme

In 2012, London is hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This is probably the biggest cultural and sporting event that we are ever likely to witness in our lifetimes and it will be happening less than an hour away in London!

To celebrate this exciting event, the Advisory Service Kent, are working in partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University and other Learning Institutions to develop a Kent 20in12 Learning Programme.

The aim of this programme is to ensure that every child and young person in Kent has the opportunity to engage in educational experiences that relate to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.  The learning programme includes all the areas of the curriculum and not just PE and school sport.

Each year until 2012, learning themes will be selected as a stimulus for cross curricular learning projects and collaborations; the projects will be carried out in schools and settings or in partnerships across the County. This gives an exciting potential for cross-phase collaboration as education settings from the early years through to higher education will be involved.
