In 2009 fifty-five settings were successful in gaining entry to the Kent Quality Mark Scheme.

St Michael's pre-school in Tenterden spoke very positively about the impact of the scheme so far on outcomes for children:

'Our ECERS audit informed our first case study, which is based on improving the provision for problem solving, reasoning and numeracy so that all children have access not only to a good variety of resources, but that our staff team is taking every opportunity to build on these skills. Observations of our children are already showing increased mathematical language and our planning for next steps reflects their renewed enthusiasm for number work'.

Quality is Assured for Kent Children

Fifty top nurseries and pre-schools have been praised for their high standards.

They were handed certificates at an awards ceremony in Ashford after completing the Kent Quality Mark scheme. To gain the award they had to show commitment to raising the quality of their service and improve outcomes for pre-school children and their families. PRESS RELEASE......
