Secondary Central AST Team

The Secondary Central AST team have a key role in raising standards and helping to improve the quality of teaching skills and learning opportunities for the children in Kent.

Working independently or collaboratively alongside a team of advisers, consultants or school based ASTs, the central team provide intensive support.

Typically a centrally based AST will spend one day per week within a school, building capacity through coaching and mentoring; demonstrating innovative practice; developing and disseminating resources and working alongside teachers to raise standards. They may work with middle or senior leaders, helping to improve the teaching and learning ethos in a school.
