  • Nurturing Creative and Automomous Learners: Kent Secondary Strategy Phase 2
    The Kent Secondary Strategy (Phase 2) lies at the heart of Kent's BSF and Academies Programe. Its educational vision aims to drive and support the development of a Kent secondary educational system fit for the 21st Century, where physical and virtual environments provide anytime / anyplace access to learning tailored to the needs of individuals and relevant to the demands of today's economy.

  • Kent Building Schools for the Future & Academies Programme
    KCC's dedicated website for the Kent BSF & Academies Programme. The site details the scope and scale of the programme, timescales and regular updates on programme developments.

  • National College for School Leadership: BSF information
    A dedicated NCSL website covering all aspects of the BSF agenda. The site prpvides access to relevant documents and resources (audio, video, podcasts, etc.) as well as planning resources.

  • The National Secondary Strategy
    A DCSF site which provides an overview of the renewed Framework and detailed guidance and planning resources for all the sections of the Framework.

  • The National Curriculum
    A DCSF site which provides an overview of the revised National Curriculum that aims to enable all young people to become; successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve; confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives; and responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society. The site includes resources to help colleagues organise, develop, implement and evaluate the new curriculum.

  • 14 - 19 Education and Skills
    A DCSF site which provides details on: changes to the curriculum coming into effect from September 2008; the new Diploma, apprenticeships and the strengthened GCSEs and A levels; information and resources about the 14-19 curriculum and 14-19 partnerships; support and training for organisations delivering Diplomas and functional skills; and access to 14-19 area prospectuses.

  •  The Children Act
    The Act provides a legislative spine for the wider strategy for improving children's lives. This covers the universal services which every child accesses, and more targeted services for those with additional needs. The overall aim is to encourage integrated planning, commissioning and delivery of services as well as improve multi-disciplinary working, remove duplication, increase accountability and improve the coordination of individual and joint inspections in local authorities.

    The Children’s Plan sets out how the DCSF is going to make this country the best place in the world for children and young people to grow up.The site provides access to the plan and suporting resources.

  • Every Child Matters
    A comprehensive DCSF site which covers all aspects of the Every Child Matters agenda.

  • Professor Stephen Heppell
    Stephen Heppell, described by Microsoft as "Europe's leading online education expert", has been working with Kent on the use of ICT in learning. His website provides, in his own words, "a mash-up of all the links and references to my work: conference material, videos, transcripts, podcasts, debates, interviews, partners' sites, collaborators, blog debates, etc."

    A site developed to encourage the effective use of ICT in the classroom. The site provides useful pointers to other sites and blogs on the subject.

  • Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies (C4LPT)
    C4LPT keeps abreast of learning trends, technologies and tools in order to help learning professionals understand them and implement them successfully in their organisations.
