The Secondary Team

Our Secondary Team supports practitioners across the secondary phase. Through local and national initiatives supporting secondary schools to provide the best possible options for young people and reach the highest standards so that they are fully prepared for life as an adult.


Our Main Responsibilities

• As an advisory team our aim is to support schools through six regionally-based Senior Secondary Advisers linked to a central support team of National Strategy Consultants, advisers, teacher advisers and AST team.
• Through these teams, and linked to school-based ASTs, we provide support for all national curriculum subjects and other areas which include
• Vocational education
• 14-19 curriculum
• Assessment for Learning
• Literacy and numeracy
• Curriculum review and organization
• Gifted & Talented
• Workforce reform
• Newly Qualified Teachers, Graduate Trainees and Returners to Teaching
• Middle Leaders
• Personalisation and Student Voice

A comprehensive CPD programme is also available to support school , cluster, network and individual professional development.
