Programmes 2007-2008
For the financial year 2007-2008 the Secondary and Primary National Strategies have rationalised the number of programmes that they are involved with leading to eleven key programmes. These are broken down as follows
Covering the 0-19 Age Range
- English/Literacy
- Mathematics/Numeracy
- Behaviour & Attendance
- Addressing underperformance in schools causing concern
Focus on Raising Standards for Particular Groups of Pupils
- Improving standards on ethnic minority groups including white working class boys
- To develop more effective support and challenge for pupils with special educational needs
- To promote effective support for gifted and talented students
System Wide Programmes
- Developing the early years and foundation stage
- Developing the national School Improvement Partner (SIP) programme
Secondary Specific
With the exception of the early years and foundation stage all of these programmes are relevant to secondary schools. Support for the areas can be accessed through
