Advanced Skills Teachers - School Based

School Based ASTs

After last years’ successful pilot ASK are offering another exciting opportunity for school based ASTs. As part of your support a project fund is available to support developments in teaching and learning linking into AST’s outreach role. We are asking ASTs who feel they have a specific outreach project to apply for the funding; each can attract up to £2000.

Example of project titles:

  • Embedding movement analysis software across the curriculum – linked to the Darttrainer project in Kent”
  • Developing cross-phase transition projects”
  • Raising the game – boys literacy at key stage 2”
  • Web based learning materials for Geography”
  • Creativity and the whole curriculum”

The most successful projects from last year were focused around the building capacity agenda. Other schools and teachers must be able to learn from the projects and use the resources. The money should enable the project to run successfully and can be directed in many different ways i.e. ICT software; digital camera; additional supply costs; teaching and learning materials or training expenses.

Each project needs to include clear outcomes linked to how pupils in Kent will benefit. Furthermore, a clear evaluation process along with the results and resources needed. Following the completion of the project a case study will need to be produced that can be put on the Kent SAS web-site in order to share good practice.

Application letters will be sent to schools by the end of September

Please take this opportunity to access extra funding to enable you to undertake a development project that has otherwise been out of reach.

Example of a project can be found on the website
