Welcome to Professional Development & Training for Support Staff
The Support Staff Team provide a range of services and assistance towards the development of the School Support Staff contribution to children's teaching and learning. The special focus is the continuous professional development work for Teaching Assistants, Play Leaders/Midday Staff, Office Staff/Bursars, Technicians and Site Managers.
There are:
- Introductory/Induction Workshops
- Support to the further development of Skills for Life, especially Literacy, Numeracy and ICT
- Short Specialist Courses
- Extended programmes and links towards nationally recognised qualifications at levels 2 and above, including Higher Level Teaching Assistant status.
These programmes are available within the following aspects of school life for all support staff:
- Common core programmes – open to all
- Curriculum – support to Teaching and Learning, including AEN
- Personal Development
- Qualifications
We can also help with:
- General advice on support staff and their contribution to whole school developments
- Contributions towards development projects
- The preparation/delivery of bespoke and in-school programmes
