New Secondary Curriculum for Design & Technology

In design and technology pupils combine practical and technological skills with creative thinking to design and make products and systems that meet human needs. They learn to use current technologies and consider the impact of future technological developments. They learn to think creatively and intervene to improve the quality of life, solving problems as individuals and members of a team. More details on the QCA website.

 

Paul Shallcross Award

This is an annual award given to a school that has made a significant contribution to the development of the Design and Technology Community in Kent.

2005-2006 Maidstone Girls Grammar School. The D&T department has developed a range of CAD/CAM courses for primary school pupils.
2006 –2007 St Anselm’s Catholic School Canterbury, The D&T department have established transition activities and have supported a number of Kent CPD events.
