Nurturing Creative & Autonomous Learners: Kent Secondary Strategy - Phase 2
"To significantly raise achievement levels in Kent we need to develop highly motivated autonomous, collaborative and creative learners who are equipped for life and work in the 21st Century. This will require us to personalise the education offer so that we fully understand how to stimulate, nurture and stretch every young person in accordance with his or her abilities, interests and needs."
The document outlines the educational vision that underpins our BSF Programme and details the major reforms required to support it.Kent's BSF Strategic Business Case combines the educational vision developed in our Nurturing Creative & Autonomous Learners and applies it to strategic asset planning for the areas of Gravesham, Thanet and Swale. The strategy serves as a blueprint to co-ordinate the plans and aspirations of all users and providers of secondary education in these localities and ensure value-for-money.
Useful Guidance and Overviews

Guidance for Local Authorities and Schools Anticipating BSF Investment (DCSF)
Given the longer-term scope of Building Schools for the Future, some LEAs and schools may want to change some of their current capital investment or asset management plans. We are therefore offering this guidance to help LEAs and schools avoid:
a): a situation where the prospect of future Building Schools for the Future funding delays or cancels plans that could be achieved now with existing resources.
b): capital being invested now, where the best economic case might be to wait for a larger-scale project under BSF.
