How to integrate the International Dimension

There are many ways to incorporate the International Dimension into your school. Several of these are listed below:

• Involve the whole school  
• Obtain the full support of the school management and the Governors
• Engage and encourage the participation of the pupil
• Try to involve the local community in your plans - consider the implications of community cohesion

• Set up a network with other schools, LA Officers and external agencies
• Incorporate the International Dimension into your development plan and reflect this in your SEF
• Integrate the International Dimension into professional development (don't forget the Teachers' International Professional Development Programme!) 

• Develop links with overseas partners
• Be aware of the importance and effect of ICT for developing and maintaining international links 
• Very importantly, keep up to date with the current developments in terms of opportunities, especially funding to support your activities
