Specialist Children's Services
There are a number of government Statutory Returns which the Statutory Returns & Data Quality stream undertake on behalf of the Specialist Children's Services Group within CFE. Below we have provided an overview on the return and where, if a link has been provided, you are able to obtain more indepth knowledge.
Every district within Kent has a Management Information District representative. If you are unaware of your district representative, please see the link at the bottom of this page.
PF1 Return
The Private Fostering Return - this is the collection of Private Fostering Arrangements and Notifications received by our Local Authority during the year, ending 31st March. It also looks at the number of children looked after under the private fostering arrangements in our authority as at 31st March and the frequency of statutory visits made by the authority, either 6 weekly or 12 weekly depending on how long the child has been privately fostered.
Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Census
The Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Census requires each Local Authority in England to return information on all PRUs run, managed or funded by the authority. The Census data collection is managed by the PRU Census Project team within Attendance and Behaviour Service (ABS) and Management Information Unit (MIU - Statutory Returns & Data Quality) collates the data for submission to the DfE. The Census is comprised of two levels of data. At the school (PRU) level, one data record must be returned for each PRU within the authority. At the pupil level a group of individual pupil records must be returned, one for each pupil registered at the PRU on Census day. The PRU Census is collected annually. The census date will be the third Thursday in January (20th in 2011).
