In June 2005, the Government published its:
Extended Schools Prospectus: Access to Services & Opportunities for All

This sets out a core offer of services which all schools should be offering by 2010. The categories of provision are:

• High quality wraparound childcare
• A varied menu of activities
• Parenting support
• Swift & easy referral to a wide range of specialist services
• Providing wider community access to school facilities

Kent Extended Schools is aware that many schools are already offering a wide, varied and innovative range of services and hope that these will be a source of ideas, contacts and guidance for schools to develop their own services. To support this, Kent Extended Schools have developed an online resource where schools can view case studies relating to each particular strand of the Core Offer.
