Our Aims and Objectives

KGA is an independent association of governors with no political affiliation seeking to:

  • Broaden participation in school governance and provide a democratic forum for the exchange of ideas whislt encouraging co-operation between Governing Bodies, Schools and Local Children’s Services Partnerships (LCSP)
  • Act collectively to promote and protect the integrity of education in the county
  • Provide a formal channel of communication with the LA and a mechanism for consultation and negotiation on educational matters, and, to further good relationships with the LA and other relevant bodies
  • Maintain links with Kent School Governance and Governor Training Units
  • Further governors’ interests regionally and nationally through membership of the National Governors Association (NGA)
  • Provide a coherent voice for Kent Governors in making representations to central government on matters of common concern
