The DFE recently published a revised ‘Statutory Polices for Schools’ document, which can be downloaded from the DFE website.
The document outlines the policies and other documents governing bodies are legally required to hold, and includes links to relevant regulations and timescales for review. However, a number of key policies e.g. safeguarding, and whistle blowing are omitted, and the DFE have confirmed that the list is not definitive, but needs to be used in conjunction with appropriate supplementary guidance. A link to ‘statutory guidance for schools’ was added to the DFE website on 7 February.
