Extended School’s Core Offer Questionnaire for Parents/Carers
Following requests from several schools the Swale Extended Schools team has produced a questionnaire for parents/carers which not only informs them of the ES “core offer” and canvases their views and demands in this area, but also acts as a consultation document for schools which is in itself a key principle of extended services and also a necessary step in fulfilling extended schools status (a key government target for September 2010)
We have attached the cover letter and questionnaire to this post and would be delighted if you could put this out to parents. Although I am sure you will be equally keen to see the responses yourselves, we will happily collect them from you, analyse them and let you know the results as soon as possible.
Following our own consultation with schools we decided on a general one page (both sides) format. We appreciate this means it lacks depth but conversely it should be more attractive to parents and guarantee more responses. As a further incentive we have included some rewards (for both Schools and parents/carers) which you can read about on the form
We consider this very much a first step consultation and depending on results you may consider further more specific or detailed consultations on any of the key areas something we would be more than happy to help you with. We also understand that some Schools may in fact wish to eliminate certain sections not wishing to bombard parents with questions already covered in previous consultations. Again please feel free to use, adapt and edit the documents to your own requirements.
On a final note, we would also ask you to consider how you will get responses and feedback from parents with low levels of literacy and/or English language skills. Film Club
The Extended Services teams (Swale Urban & Swale Rural) are continually promoting the exciting FilmClub programme. By joining this initiative your school can avail of all the fantastic facilities this free service offers, including:
- Free DVD rental (from a choice of 1600 age appropriate titles)
- Free Public Video Screening Licence (PVSL)
- Promotional posters, Membership cards and Website access for pupil reviews
- Industry visits (from Actors to Special effects departments!)
In order to register for the service you will need to return the following, attached forms via fax or post (contact details below).
