Low cost no cost ideas 13.03.09

WE were fortunate to gain some DCSF funding and the ASTs have held Bring and Share- low cost no cost ideas with nurseries and settings across the Partnership. See below for best ideas from the Herne Infant group led by Stella O'Leary

    • Your no cost / low cost ideas
    •
    • Roll on deodorant container filled with paint. Easy to use by children of all ages and abilities.
    •
    • Free resources that parents collected and sent in. These ones are used for the rhyme 5 little monkeys and the crocodile.
    •
    • Free resources sent in by parents went to making this ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ story sack. Odd bits of material we had made the sack.
    •
    • Laminated shapes – endless possibilities! Sonia says the children particularly enjoying posting them.
    •
    • Hide and seek in a pot of pasta. This one contains two of each item for a matching game.
    •
    • An alterative to the ‘tuff spot’. This one comes from the Hope catalogue and only cost £3.25. Mats are available to insert inside, costing £9.95 each.
    •
    • A treasure box of goodies, in this case the children have to find the items beginning with ‘h’. Calvia has used this during child initiated time and in a more focused group work setting.
    •
    • Using boxes. This petrol pump has a shower that attaches onto the bath as the pump. Michelle has used a hoover tube on hers.
