Little Hands Children's Centre at Wincheap was officially opened on Wednesday 22 May 2009. Local Liberal Democrat City and County, Nick Eden-Green, Alex Perkins and Martin Vye attended along with Ruth Herron, Partnership Manager for Canterbury City and Country Local Children's Services Partnership. Stacey Hendley former pupil at Wincheap Primary School, who won the competition to 'brand' the children's centre and Orchard School student Sam Bryant, who assisted on the outside area of the centre , also joined in the celebrations.
